Since 2009, we have worked with the National Nurses United on their annual convention.
As critical members on the frontline of the pandemic, the nurses understand first hand the risks involved with in-person events and have hosted virtual conventions for the last two years. This year’s set was installed at the Marriott Marquis in San Francisco, and we partnered with MetroMedia Productions to design, build, and install the temporary media studio in the grand ballroom of the hotel. The set featured three large screens with hard red surrounds, a custom circular stage, and two flanking cat walks where the director of the union and key speakers sat for the event. Additionally, we dressed the executive viewing room where a limited number of staff could view the live broadcast of the event while it was happening. The challenge came with all the new normals of working during a pandemic, including COVID safety protocols for the working crew and event attendees. But the event went off without a hitch, and we are so grateful to the nurse’s union not only for all they have done in this fight against COVID-19, but for being such a fabulous client all these years.
