Mobile trailer features educational exhibits highlighting the water and energy cycle used by the utility district.
JMP worked with long time production partners, The Acorn Group and Covive, to design and fabricate the interior of Turlock Irrigation District’s mobile education trailer. The water and power utility located in California’s central valley asked for a creative, fun, and interactive exhibit that could travel to various events and locations. The challenge came in designing a highly informative interpretive exhibit to fit in a 20′ x 7′ fifth wheel trailer, without all the infrastructure found in other educational environments. The interpretive plan featured mini exhibits highlighting the history of the utility district, the water cycle and how it influences agriculture, the district’s electrical grid, renewable energy sources, and water and power safety for consumers and employees of the district. Each mini exhibit seamlessly connected to the next and offered some sort of hands on element to engage the visitor in a sensory experience. Our fabrication team custom built all the working elements, while our graphics team printed and wrapped the interior and exterior of the trailer. The result is a fun and engaging experience on wheels, and we are proud of what we accomplished with this uniquely challenging project.
