JMP worked with Centrifuge Media to design and create a vibrant and compelling environment for their client's corporate event. The set took advantage of our highly customizable stage decks where any shape is possible, and featured a custom edge-lit circular thrust. The set featured eye catching multi panel curved LED displays providing a canvas for stunning video content.
The Tech Awards is an international awards program that honors innovators from around the world who are applying technology to benefit humanity. John Murray Productions worked with McCune Audio Visual to create the environment for this annual event held at the Santa Clara Convention Center. The challenge began several months ago in our scene shop when the initial design for a 15' x 70' borderless screen was created. After working through the design, a solution was reached and the welding began. The giant borderless screen is the first of its kind in our shop, and was designed to be size adjustable in 15' sections. Over 1,700 linear feet of steel was used for the project. Bleached muslin was stretched over a foundation layer of blackout material to ensure a consistent and opaque projection surface. The massive screen was flown on box truss, and with the absence of a screen surround the projection surface appeared to float in midair. We also provided a chandelier made from our 2x2 tile set as the focal point above the bar. Color changing lights were used to illuminate the structure internally. The over all result was clean and polished providing the ideal environment for the technology awards event.
Swiss Air held a publicity event at the San Francisco Embarcadero's Justin Herman Plaza, and John Murray Productions worked in partnership with Winslow Events to provide the scenic needs, utilizing our new large format printer. The event consisted of a Swiss Heidi Look-a-Like contest, and surely only San Francisco's best were on hand. The stage consisted of three 4'x10' flats that were covered with a seamless print featuring Swiss Air's own airliner flying high above the Matterhorn. This focal point was flanked by stretched spandex, with a panel for the judges in front. For the runway, we custom built red fascia sides for another 4'x10' flat that fit seamlessly onto the stairs at the plaza. Perhaps the highlight of the production was an 8'x8' panel covered with a gorgeous image of cows in the Swiss alps which was printed and seamed in our print shop. The event was a hit with a good time to be had by all, especially the winners of the contest who won free Swiss Air flights. Photos courtesy of Swiss Air & Winslow Events.
DMA:2010, the annual conference hosted by the Direct Marketing Association, was held this October at Moscone Center in San Francisco. The global event focuses on all marketing channels, from traditional to digital, and is an excellent resource for all marketing professionals. John Murray Productions partnered with Presentation Services on what proved to be one of our most challenging productions to date. The set for the general session consisted of a custom made 126'x25' triple screen surround covered in seamless white muslin which doubled as a projection surface for lighting effects throughout the conference. The real challenge came in installing this behemoth stage set in the Moscone center which essentially consisted of a puzzle of 72 flatwalls in various sizes. The wall was installed in 2 segments, the first of which was flown on rigging points in the ceiling, and the second segment which was attached to the first once overhead. 130 linear feet of white muslin was stretched across the wall, and then cut creating windows for the screens. Three 15'x26' screens were then mounted within the seamless surround. JMP also provided custom circular staging and stage decor including an internally lit, color changing lectern with DMA branding, stage furniture, and carpet. Thanks to a hard working and prepared crew, we had a very smooth install and the overall effect was striking and dynamic, providing an entertaining environment for one of the largest marketing conferences in the world.
