THQ is launching their newest game, Company of Heroes 2, and John Murray Productions worked with Cake Group in NYC to put together a gameplay promotional event at the Bentley Reserve is San Francisco. In the second installment of the world war II game, focus shifts to the eastern front and the battles of the soviet army. The concept was to design a stately environment reminiscent of a soviet officers club, and the regal old Federal Reserve provided the perfect backdrop on which to create a communist headquarters. The facade of the building was dressed with Company of Heroes 2 banners. Guests arrived via red carpet to the long and narrow banking hall dressed with 3' x 12' fringed propaganda banners featuring the Red army war cry, 'For the Motherland'. Game stations were set up left and right of the carpet, and a 6' x 12' stage set was placed at the end of the hall, where a 7' x 12' screen dressed with regal red drapery was placed for the presentation of the game. On the back wall of the hall floated a giant 8' tall x 10" deep gold mirrored hammer & sickle, flanked by soviet reminiscent flags. The neighboring Farralon room acted as the press area, where an 8' x 17' print of the game's key art acted as a vibrant backdrop for press interviews of the game's designers. Accent lighting provided by AV Images provided the finishing touch for this creative event, which was a great success.
