The Technology Museum of San Jose hosted their Tech Awards at the Santa Clara Convention Center, and John Murray Productions worked with McCune Audio Visual for the third year in a row to create the scenic environment for this annual event. This year, we designed and installed a 60' long x 10' diameter, stretched spandex tunnel which acted as a projection surface. Guests entered the giant exhibition hall through the tunnel, whose look and feel changed throughout the evening with a beautiful variety of colorful projections. The result was a dynamic and inviting effect that set the tone for the Tech themed awards. Upon exiting the tunnel, guests feasted their eyes on a grand set appropriate for the large exhibition hall. Utilizing five screens in alternating orientation we created a unique set perfect for McCune's stunning projections. The giant 22' x 40' center screen was flanked by two 24' x 13' screens in portrait orientation, which worked great for the IMAG images of presenters and recipients. The outside 15' x 26' screens balanced the set which spanned 140' of the exhibition hall. The look was colorful and dynamic, creating the perfect environment for this international event.
