TED '09

The annual TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) Conferences moved to Longbeach this year! Thousands of people now attend -- indeed, the event sells out a year in advance -- and the content has expanded to include science, business, the arts and the global issues facing our world.  Over four days, the conference brings together the world's most fascinating thinkers and doers (around 50 speakers), who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes).  John Murray Productions built the Energy Pavillion, sponsored by Shell, incorporating over three tons of real coal, recycled wood, metal cages, and acrylic.  The exhibit designed by Thinc Design intended to demonstrate the amount of carbon used in our day to day lives, and to inspire a dialogue among attendees as to our future energy solutions.
