When Taiwan's biggest pop star, Jay Chou, was in need of a giant arch for his North American tour, John Murray Productions fulfilled the duty. Working with a design by our client LD Alliance, the massive arch's frame was constructed with just under one ton of steel, covered with plywood and lit internally. It serves as a custom screen surround for the King of Mandopop's massive onstage half-elliptical shaped screen. We also created a futuristic quick change booth where Jay Chou can escape to change into his next showstopping outfit. Both stage props were designed to be taken apart easily for travel, as Jay's shows on the west coast began in Vancouver and will end in Los Angeles on January 8th. The challenge came in making such a massive prop in a short amount of time, but the overall result was a success and the client very happy. Jay Chou is not only a pop star, but a fledgling actor as well. Look for him in the upcoming film 'The Green Hornet' where he plays the Green Hornet's capable sidekick Kato.
